Long Island Lavender Fields
Did you know there are Lavender Fields on Long Island? Get transported to Provence, France, while dancing along some of the most Instagrammable flower fields on Long Island!
Lavender by the Bay has two locations. One in Calverton and their original location in East Marion. Believe it or not, they have one of the largest Lavender farms in the USA! So if you are looking for photo-worthy flower fields in Long Island, add one of Lavender by the Bays Fields to your list!
Sunflower Fields on Long Island
The Sunflower fields on Long Island make for the perfect spot to take photos. Lucky for us Long Islanders, we have a handful of farms to choose from for those epic photo-worthy pictures.
Some of my favorite farms to visit on Long Island for sunflower photos include the Water Drinker Farm, Manor Farm Sunflower Maze, Pindar Vineyard, and Rottkamp’s Fox Hollow Farm. You can get all the details on Long Island Sunflower farms here!
Montauk Lighthouse
Love lighthouses and dramatic beach backdrops? Montauk, also known as The End of The World, is not only one of the most Instagrammable places on Long Island, but a really cool place to visit.
Climb around the rocks of the lighthouse, down to the beach, or on the side lawn for an insta-worthy photo. You also have to opportunity to climb the lighthouse and get sweeping views of the ocean.
During your visit to Montauk, you can also enjoy some of the most beautiful beaches on Long Island, which are also great photo locations. One of my favorite beaches in Montauk is Kirk Park Beach with really cool sand dunes!

Long Island Vineyards & Wineries
Another great place to take photos on Long Island is at 1 of over 60 vineyards and wineries. Best of all, you get to enjoy some amazing wine and take picture-perfect photos!
One of the most Instagrammable vineyards on Long Island has to be Macari Vineyards in Mattituck! The reason I love their vineyard for taking photos is that you’re allowed to walk down the rows of grapevines freely.
Furthermore, they have great wine and they are located near the Lavender fields, so it’s a win, win if you visit during lavender season.
Sands Point Preserve Castle
Does it get more Instagrammable than photos at a castle? Sands Point Preserve Castle is one of my favorite photography locations on Long Island because not only do they have an Irish-inspired castle, they also have a beautiful rose garden, trails, picnic areas, and it’s located right on the Long Island Sound.
This is why Sands Point Preserve makes so many of my Long Island lists including the best things to do on Long Island!
We actually almost did our engagement photos here but didn’t want to pay the fee.
The entrance is $5 per car or a $4 walk-in fee and is open year-round.
Hours change with the season and they are open from Wednesday- Sunday.

Fire Island Lighthouse
The Fire Island Lighthouse is another one of my favorite places to take photos on Long Island!
This particular lighthouse has a really cool boardwalk leading up to it with seagrass on either side. You can find a lot of really cool photography perspectives with leading lines, and see a really nice sunset.
Fire Island Lighthouse is also a great photo location if you love wildlife photography since you can usually see deers, butterflies, birds, and more!
Head to Robert Moses Field 5 and drive all the way to the left.

Old Westbury Garden
There is a reason so many people take their engagement and wedding photos at Old Westbury Gardens. This former gold coast estate offers 200 acres of gardens, ponds, lakes, and more!
Some of my favorite places to take photos are at the large iron gates, the front and back of the estate, and by the rose garden!
Tickets to the Old Westbury grounds currently need to be purchased in advance and range from $7-$12 dollars a person.

One of the most beautiful gardens on Long Island and top Instagram places goes to the Planting Fields. Don’t be surprised if you see engagement and wedding photography, as the grounds set the perfect backdrop!

Pirates Cove, Port Jefferson
One of the coolest places I’ve been to on Long Island has to be Pirates Cove (McAllister County Park) in Port Jefferson. This is really a local gem, so please treat this area with respect. There is very limited parking, about 7 spots in a residential neighborhood.
You can even camp on this beach, walk up giant sand dunes, and see one of the most epic sunsets. It was by far one of the most beautiful sunsets I’ve seen on Long Island!
Address: Harbor Hills Dr, Port Jefferson, NY 11777
Long Beach, Long Island
Not only is Long Beach one of my go-to beaches on Long Island, but you can also get some really stunning photos on this beach. If you are looking for the perfect sunset photos on one of Long Island’s beaches, you have come to the right place. While there, you can also enjoy walking the boardwalk!
Nassau County, Long Island Parks
My two go-to parks for photos are Valley Stream State Park and Hempstead Lake State Park. I especially love Valley Stream State Park for Fall and Snow photos. I actually took my engagement photos at this park.
You can also find lots of photo opportunities by the Lake in Hempstead Lake Park and dogs are allowed!
You can easily get to both parks with entrances right from the Southern State Parkway. Exits 15A (Valley Steam State Park) and 18 (Hempstead Lake Park).
Long Island Farms
Looking for some seasonal places on Long Island for instagrammable photos? Long Island has a plethora of farms to get that perfect photo.
From Apple Picking and Pumpkin Picking to corn mazes and Christmas Tree Farms, your photo locations are endless!

Photography Tips for Shooting on Long Island
Now that you know some of the best places to take instagrammable photos on Long Island, here are some photography tips to keep in mind.
Please respect the rules of each destination. Do not pick or step on flowers at farms or leave trash, glitter, etc. This allows us to continue enjoying beautiful places to take photos on Long Island!
Additionally, if you plan to use a professional photographer, there might be additional photography fees. A professional photographer is someone you pay to take photos.
If you are going to take photos with your phone or your camera for personal use, you should be fine.
